The Criterion

João Pedro Silveira Rossi, or known by many as J.P., is the Criterion's Editor-in-Chief. He was born in Aracaju, Sergipe, Brazil on June 5, 1998. João is a student at Central Magnet High School and previously attended Columbus School and Multicultural Magnet School. He moved to Bridgeport, CT with his family in 2006 at the age of seven. João is a sports enthusiast, and is especially passionate about soccer with his favorite teams being São Paulo Futebol Clube and Real Madrid. Joao is a member of BuildOn, and an officer of the National Honor Society, in addition to the Criterion. His favorite book is A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and he enjoys reading in general. JP loves Italian and Mexican food, and is interested in anything that involves his home country, Brazil. He says that he admires and is greatly influenced by: Winston Churchill, Salvador Dali and Alberto Santos-Dumon. He hopes to find success as a lawyer after college and aspires to be the first Brazilian Judge in America. Joao has set himself up for success so far as a high school student and is willing to face any academic challenge that is presented to him
