Central High School’s Theatre department is well underway with the spring production of The Man Who Came to Dinner, with the direction of teachers Shaun Mitchell and Vanessa Arroyo. This year’s production is centered around the characters of the insensitive and opinionated radio host Sheridan Whiteside and his secretary as events unfold after Whiteside is left confined in a wheelchair after slipping on a piece of ice on the doorstep of the Stanley household.

This year’s production proves to be a significantly larger one than last year’s production of Other Desert Cities, which contained a cast of 5 within the main cast and 5 within the understudy cast. The Man Who Came to Dinner contains a cast of more than 20; too large to even cast an understudy cast. The production includes a large range of actors, from experienced seniors to freshmen new to the theatre scene. However, the talent that each of these students hold is clear once they take the stage. With Alumni Acting Coach Aislinn Otero guiding them throughout the process, their performances are sure to be as high in quality as one would come to expect from Central’s Players. Everyone is very proud of the work that their doing in this production and are dedicated to bringing pride to Central’s small but mighty Black Box theatre. The production will be running ticket sales starting on March 26th. If interested in purchasing tickets, you could either consult the actors during the school day, or meet with Shaun Mitchell in F201. Tickets are priced at $5.00 in advance, and $8.00 at the door during performances. Performances begin morning of April 27th and end on the night of April 28th.
