On Monday the 19th, what seemed like any other commercial break during Monday Night Football quickly had internet breaking proportions from Star Wars fans dying from excitement. A new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released and gave viewers a glimpse at what to expect from the long awaited 7th installment to the Star Wars movie franchise. The trailer was vague at best, but did give viewers some hints about the movie, such as the appearance of Han Solo (played by Harrison Ford) and the conversation he had with the two presumed main characters of the film. The trailer generated so many ticket sales, that the popular movie ticket site crashed right after the trailer aired.  With the expanded universe, including comics, books, 6 seasons of Star Wars: CloneWars, and the ongoing Disney XD series Star Wars: Rebels, you could say that the hype never died down from the last trilogy. The movie has generated over 6.5 million dollars in ticket sales so far, eclipsing The Hunger Games and The Dark Knight Rises in presales. It’s clear that Disney and Lucasfilms are aiming to make a long awaited blockbuster.
